Quick story …
I went to a prominent venture capitalist and asked for advice on how to put together a business plan.
We talked about it over maybe 3 or 4 one hour sessions over 2 months.
Two spell-binding instances of magic happened during these sessions.
First, this man was mentoring me without me even saying something corny like “Will you be my mentor?”
Second, he began to form a positive opinion of me by working at close quarters and this led to him offering startup funding.
There’s an ancient saying from the Christian texts: Ask and you shall receive. Seek and you shall find. To him who knocks, the door will be open so ask, seek, knock.
It works in life. It works for finding business mentors. It works for raising capital.
Trust me on this.
